The following maps give a general idea of how much solar energy is available in different areas at different times of year. This info is critical for properly designing a solar system. A good design for New Mexico for instance would be very disappointing in Washington State. More accurate data is available for specific locations from NREL, and is the basis of all our design work for our package systems. We usually design for worst case scenario which is in January, but we consider other times of year too.
